They Call It Karma
Aug 12, 2022
We’ve landed.
The Myers’ family is now in the west Tennessee area. My husband Jason’s job transition was the catalyst, but the big picture is that God has re-assigned us. Since we’re Ambassadors for Christ, it’s His life-plan path that we are choosing to follow!
But after 5 months now of having our things packed in boxes and storage PODS, our family is a bit out-of-sorts.
We’re still not in a place to call home quite yet, staying in a furnished apartment without my favorite cooking tools, towels, and shoe selections! This nomadic lifestyle for a bit has been good for focusing my minimalist outlook, but I have to admit I am getting tired of the 7 outfits and 4 pairs of shoes I have to choose from. ðĪŠ
We’ve been very needy… needing directions, maps app, needing advice on housing, locations, grocery stores, literally EVERYTHING was unknown to us when we got here.
And in our neediness, God has provided. Just like He says.
Mostly provisions have come through our family. No, not Jason’s family or my family - they would help but they’re all thousands of miles away.
Through God’s family! Our extended family of God that we just hadn’t met yet. We’ve showed up at the Memphis embassies (aka, local churches). And without even asking, through our brothers and sisters in Christ, we’ve been given meals, gifts, advice, toys for Brooke… even from complete strangers! Without even asking… God knows our needs.
"I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
I was marveling at how we’ve been blessed in SO many ways during the course of this whole moving experience. Even before we left Tampa, we were shown such generosity. Jason reminded me that there were many times in our previous life we were in a position to give more easily. And now God has been giving back to us in very tangible ways.
The world calls it Karma, but we know better.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give…” Luke 6:38
What about you?
Are you an Ambassador for Christ who is in a position to give? Don’t hesitate! You’ve probably heard that we “can’t out-give God” and maybe you have yet to prove that truth in your own life. Try it, it’s contagious!
Or perhaps you’re like us right now, in a valley or storm in your life and the Holy Spirit is prompting others to give to your needs. Then praise Him, and graciously accept their generosity. Our Heavenly Father blesses them as they give, so it’s our role to simply receive what they offer.
Here’s a few verses for further study on sowing and reaping in God’s economy. The returns are much higher than any investment we make expecting monetary gains in worldly systems! Truly recession-proof.
